NYE: Make Up Inspiration

2
EN / ES

Last post of the year! And since it's a little late for outfit inspiration, and you can find summaries of 2013 everywhere, I chose to go for the make up.
This day is the perfect occasion to try and wear some risky make up, so here are the ones that I've considered are "easy" to copy.

The first idea focuses all of the attention on the eyes, with shadows covering the hole eyelid in one color -either black or blue- with a slight touch of glitter. In this case, lips and cheeks fit better in nude tones.

You can also go bicolor with black and gold:

Another possibility for this kind of make up is to go smoky and give more importance to the gold, like this:

Or you can also go black and white on the eyes, and add a dark colour on the lips, and a slightly darker blush:

The final whole-eyelid-covered idea is simpler, with black eyeliner bordering the eye and white/silver shadow, nude skin and glossy lips:

If you'd rather something softer for the eyes, choose the classic cat-eye with some red lipstick. This combination with the hairstyle and nails is pretty cool, and vintage:

I don't think this one is so easy to copy, but the colour and shape is perfect if you want something out of the ordinary:

This one is easier, and metallic colours are always present in party looks. Plus, the combination of metallic + soft brown is beautiful:

But if you don't like the metallics idea, here you have a pretty similar make up in black:

If you want to try on some sparkle for the eyes, here are some ideas from runway make up:

I think using non-winter colours is also a risk, so here you have some pink-orangy for lips and eyes:

And if nothing of the former convinces you, and you'd rather not to wear so much make up, here you have some basic ideas, all of them including cat-eye in different versions:

I hope you liked the post, and let me know if I've been any useful for your tonight's look!
Thanks for reading, and Happy New Year!

Blog Crush: Girl with Curves

0

"Tanesha Awasthi is the founder, voice and face of Girl with Curves, a top source of style inspiration for curvy women worldwide. With a passion to make women feel confident and beautiful, Awasthi is a style influencer on a mission, and a leader in the body confidence movement."
When I created this blog, one of the main ideas was to show other people my favourite bloggers. Well, this is that kind of post, and the first I will show you is not the typical girl that you'll see partying with other bloggers (at least I haven't seen her), although she's really popular (with almost 70.000 fans on Facebook).
Her blog is named Girl with Curves, and her outfits go from everyday to formal. As her bio above claims, Tanesha is proud of her curves, and adapts fashion to them, a proof that everybody can wear everything with no limitations. Check out the photos and judge for yourself:

Let's start with the everyday outfits, simple and so comfy! She usually gives them a more fashion touch with a pair of heels:

These two are a proof of her classic elegant style (and she doesn't look 10 years older!):

Tanesha also dares with tight outfits and patterns, and the result is gorgeous:

She also brings us some cocktail inspiration with a basic LBD:

And the last one, my personal favourite. Skinny jeans, white shirt and leopard coat, with a touch of red on the clutch and lips. Just perfect.
Simplemente perfecta:

What do you think of her style? Isn't she a walking guide of how-to-without-failing?
I hope you liked her, and the post.
Thanks for reading! ;)

Week Mix

0

The past week was a busy one, so I didn't have the time to update or write an ellaborate post.
In order not to make of this a shitty post, I'll show you some things that I found over the week, and also comment on some news. It's going to be long, get comfy!

Let's begin with the news (a.k.a. campaigns I wanted to write about):

-Rihanna as the new face of Balmain for their S/S 2014 campaign.

I like Rihanna, and I really like Balmain, but when I first read the news, I didn't know how to assimilate it. Balmain is an important brand, and let's just say that Rihanna doesn't have the best image.
At first I didn't think that she would fit as their image, although I loved the sneak peek, but now, after a week of thinking and seeing the photos everywhere, I quite like this combination. Rihanna gives Balmain a really fresh image, and they surely give her a modern elegant touch to her style.
Here are the photos that you have probably already seen:

-Marc Jacob's goodbye campaign for Louis Vuitton:

It is not a secret at all that Marc Jacobs will soon be leaving Louis Vuitton to focus on his own brand. Last week, the first images for his last campaign saw the light, and there must be said that it's not just a common campaign, is THE goodbye campaign.
Marc Jacobs counted on the participation of his "friends and muses" (word of Vogue) for this last campaign, one that is obscure and certainly gives you the impression that something sad happened. But in the middle of the sadness, there they are: Sofia Coppola, Catherine Deneuve, Gisele Bündchen, Edie Campbell, Fan Bingbing and Caroline de Maigret, they all looking painfully gorgeous on rigorous black and blue.
The icing on the cake? It was shooted by Steven Meisel.
This is without a doubt, the most emotional campaign (and I think my favourite) for the next S/S 2014 season.

Leaving behind the sadness and campaigns, and catching up with the latest Pre-Fall collections, here I leave you some of my favourite looks for the next year:

This is Bottega Veneta, and the leather details are the actual thing of the look.
These two are not only gorgeous, but also the two sides of the coin. I love the contrast, between colors and models. Also Bottega Veneta.

Naeem Kahn created a painting-dress, and I hope to see it on red carpets:

Also Naem Kaahn brought back the 20s for a moment with this model.

Now look at these pants! Michael Kors (right) and Markus Lupfer (left) agreed on including jewells to them, with the difference only Kors adventured on really adding the jewells:

Rebecca Taylor signs this pale dress. I don't know about you but it really reminded me to a modern-more feminine-urban Khaleesi:

This one's by J. Mendel, and the whole comination is perfect:

And to finish with the Pre-Fall review, my favourite look from Vera Wang. It reminds me of Prada, but more wearable. Also the make up fits perfectly with the rest of the look:

And since it's Christmas Eve, and tonight most of us will have family dinner and parties, here I leave you with some last minute inspiration for tonight's outfits.
Thanks for reading, and have a Merry Christmas! :)
